Built-in lights and vibration let the wearer know the message has been received. Visitor badges have built in real-time location tracking and can be programmed with time and location restrictions, for notifications to stakeholders when those restrictions have been breached.
Gateways and beacons create the invisible network that make the wearables work. Gateways connect the Rapid Alert wearables and beacons to the Rapid Alert Wearables Cloud. They use both wired (PoE) and wireless (LoRaWAN, LTE) connections for reliability and can be mounted indoors or outdoors to cover the whole campus. Battery powered beacons help determine where a badge is located on campus.
